As a global company, we understand, and embrace our responsibility to address some of society’s largest and most complex challenges, such as climate change and the need to provide universal access to housing and infrastructure. Our area mission is to promote initiatives that help our company provide building solutions that reduce our ecological footprint and increase stakeholder value.

Challenge

We currently have several initiatives to help CEMEX become a sustainability leader. We are enhancing our strategies for managing carbon, biodiversity and other environmental challenges; engaging with stakeholders; enhancing workplace health and safety; strengthening local community infrastructure and economies; and promoting dialogue and collaboration with our key stakeholders.

Sustainability professionals can stay within the function and deepen their experience and knowledge in this exciting new field. Or they can transfer to another team, such as Strategic Planning, Marketing, Procurement, Operations or Human Resources, and use their understanding of sustainability to improve the performance of these other areas of the company.
