How Cemex Microsilica+ Works

+
Cemex Microsilica +, when in contact with water goes into solution within an hour. The Silica in solution forms and amorphous silica rich, Calcium poor , gel on the surface of the silica fume particles and agglomerates. After time the silica rich, calcium poor coating dissolves and the agglomerates of silica fume reacts with the free lime (CaOH2) to form additional Calcium Silicate hydrates (CSH)> This is a pozzolanic reaction.

Health and Safety

+

Provided normal health and safety rules are observed, Cemex Microsilica + does not constitute a hazard to health. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin as exposure may cause irritation. For more details please refer to our MSDS.

Handling & Storage

+

Handling

Cemex Microsilica + is supplied in bulk tanker deliveries, allowing for pneumatic discharge directly into storage silos, thus eliminating the safety hazards associated with the manual handling of microsilica and the environmental hazards dust emissions associated with traditional microsilica deliveries.

Storage

Cemex Microsilica + should be stored in a moisture free environment.
