For Our Emirates We Plant

CEMEX had the privilege to take part in the “For Our Emirates We Plant” campaign organized by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) that took place in Minae’, South Ras Al Khaimah (Skheibar Area).

This campaign started in 2007 and since then it had managed to plant over 2,095,802 indigenous trees in the UAE, which resulted in the mitigation of 12,358.32 MT of CO2 in the UAE. Tree planting is one of the most cost-effective ways of addressing climate change, as trees and forests play a vital role in regulating climate, since they absorb carbon dioxide.

This campaign has helped promote better knowledge of trees and highlight the vital roles played in the natural environment. The aim of the campaign is to create sustainable green spaces in UAE, and to gather the community together for a greater cause.

CEMEX was chosen to be part of this amazing initiative and planted 3 trees, which also took part of our contribution towards recycling waste.
